MATCH REPORT
Arsenal got their second victory of the season courtesy of a stunning free-kick from Martin Odegaard in the 30th minute of play.
On a bright and sunny afternoon at Turf Moor, the Norwegian international snatched victory for Mikel Arteta's team with a brilliantly struck free-kick that flew past Nick Pope.
Arsenal got off to a faster start than the home team, with Kieran Tierney's dangerous low pass threatening the Burnley goal as Nicolas Pepe forced Pope to make a save.
The home team tried to bully Arsenal with their aerial balls. From a corner, Ben Mee headed past Aaron Ramsdale's goal, before Gudmundsson's shot was saved by our Aaron Ramsdale. Emile Smith Rowe nearly added a second in the 45th minute of play after connecting with Pepe's cut-back, but his curling effort sailed narrowly past Pope's crossbar.
After a difficult situation for the Arsenal defence, the ball was sent to Westwood at the back post, but he couldn't get enough on his strike to beat Aaron Ramsdale, while Emile Smith-Rowe had the same problem after a sweeping play at the other end. The visitors were given a scare 70 minutes in when Ben White misjudged a backpass and a penalty was awarded after Matj Vydra stepped over Ramsdale's foot, but a VAR check revealed that he had also received the ball. Burnley fought for a late equalizer, but the visitors held on for the win.
Aaron Ramsdale's second clean sheet in as many Premier League games since replacing Bernd Leno will undoubtedly be as satisfying as Mikel Arteta's victory. Burnley, on the other hand, has now gone five Premier League games without a win.
