DEMBA BA QUITS FOOTBALL



Former Chelsea, Newcastle United and West ham United striker Demba Ba has announced his retirement from football.

He made his first-team debut with the french team Rouen in 2005 before moving to Mouscron and in 2007 he joined 1899 Hoffenheim a Bundesliga football club.

In 2011 Demba Ba signed for West Ham United and played just twelve games. He was the club top goal scorer in the 2010-2011 season, a season West Ham was also relegated to the championship. Demba Ba left West Ham and joined Newcastle United, He played 58 games and scored 29 goals for the Magpies.

In 2013 the dream move came in for Demba Ba. He signed for Chelsea football club and scored 14 goals in all competitions. His goal against Liverpool after Steven Gerrard slipped denied the Reds the English Premier League title in 2014. Demba Ba spent just eighteen months in Stamford bridge before joining the Turkish side Besiktas.

He won the Turkish super league twice with Besiktas in 2016/17 and Istanbul Basaksehir in 2019/20.

Demba Ba was without a club after leaving FC Lugano in August after two stints in China with Shanghai Shenhua and 22 caps for Senegal.
